Ipod-esque lighting control panel

Everyone knows the difficulties of remembering which switch switches on what light, and then the Lutron solved it all with the Grafix eye systems. But let's face it they aren't the most stimulating style or design.

The intuitive touch sensitive panels have replaced the click-on click-off types. All you need is deep pockets and a sense of aesthetics to incorporate panels like the Revio. The panel boasts of eight program scene buttons, power button, dim/bright control, infrared receiver, program from iCAN network, flash memory, panel 'clean' switch and more!

Multiple configurations and re-programming for light settings are possible with it.
The rotary bezel has a tactile click and a soft rubber grip.
A 'clean' switch when pressed allows the panel to be cleaned without changing light levels.
Since all the parts of the panel are separate, repairing, replacing or recycling of any individual component is possible without fuss.
Backlit touch sensitive scene buttons.
Choice of icons (including photographic images) and text language is included in the design.

It's made using a Polycarbonate/ABS blend for durability and recyclability. The clear cover is moulded from transparent impact resistant Polycarbonate, which is apt for good light transmission. The on/off button is crafted from brushed stainless steel.

I'm definitely looking forward to seeing some of these in production!

Best Spring buy

The Sunday Times names this as one of their best spring buys.

With spring and summer just around the corner we are all turning our attention to ways of brightening our homes.

This Beata pendant light designed by Russell Pinch of Pinch Design, will surely bring the sense of heady summer days and Pimms in the garden to ones mind. Made by a milliner from the same material as the Panama hat, it is available in three tones from bright white to nutmeg. It comes with a ceramic ceiling rose, fabric braid cord and lamp holder.

This pendant light made from a natural material combined with an eco friendly energy efficient lamp would be a great 'green' addition to lighting the home.
